MOKAO
MOKAO is a celebration of coffee and chocolate. It was dinner, an art exhibit, a hangout with old friends and a mixer creating new friends. Organized by Youssef and Ariel of Jadore Pastry (Instagram), they pulled all the stops. A phenomenal evening full of laughter, quiet introspection and dining. Setting up shop in the back of house with all the chefs preparing the meals was super cool. Since starting the Okayest Cook podcast, I'll any chance to connect with chefs on a deeper level and watch them work. The comradery was next level. Each chef represented a different restaurant, but came together in the most beautiful fashion to create the dinner. Every dish was a brain child of one, but built and served by all. I set up to capture images of each dish for the chef's and event crew as well as candid kitchen prep and plating. Super challenging to focus on taking photos and avoid hunkering down in a corner to savor the food! I did get to try most of the dishes and they were more stunning than they looked.Â
